Susan Dixon, MA
Registered Clinical Social Work Intern
Children are a gift, but parenting is not always easy. Seeking therapy for your child means placing your trust in someone to help them thrive and regain their smile. My goal is to foster a deeper connection and understanding between you and your child, with the hope of eventually stepping aside as their needs are met.
I am neurodivergent-affirming and provide services for children aged 3–14 who are adjusting to new situations, experiencing loss, depression, anxiety, ADHD, bullying, or behavioral issues. My experience includes CBT, DBT, Sand Tray, Art, Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychoeducation, with extensive training in Early Childhood Behavioral Health. I support attachment-based interventions, believing that helping children feel secure in themselves and their environment leads to positive behavioral changes. I offer a safe, engaging, and non-judgmental space for your child to explore and process their thoughts and emotions.
As a first-generation Colombian American, I am fluent in English and Spanish and understand the nuances of multicultural families. As a mom in a blended family and a military spouse, I also have personal insights into the unique challenges these families face. Feel free to contact me for a free 15-minute phone consultation — I look forward to supporting you.”
