Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Deanna comes with over two decades of experience in the mental health field serving in a variety of roles. She has been providing post-master’s level therapy to clients for almost 14 years. Deanna has worked in all levels of care. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, her Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and graduate certificate in Play Therapy from the University of Central Florida.
Deanna is passionate about providing evidence-based therapy and has received formal training in the following therapies: Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She has also completed Levels 1-4 in Sand Tray Play Therapy.
Deanna is independently licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida and Washington and as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Arizona, Colorado and South Carolina. She is additionally credentialed as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors and a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) Foundation. Her niches and professional focuses include eating disorders/disordered eating, body image/body dysmorphia, trauma/PTSD, suicidal ideation and/or behaviors, non-suicidal self-injury, chronic pain and/or illness and autoimmune disorders, anxiety and depression.
Deanna is particularly passionate about serving teens and college students as well as first responders, veterans and active military members. She has received additional cultural competency training from UCF Restores and Florida Firefighters Safety and Health Collaborative for fire service members and law enforcement personnel. Deanna has past experience with providing services to children and teens in specialty clinics through Orlando Health Arnold Palmer’s Hospital for Children, including pediatric rheumatology, adolescent medicine and pediatric infectious diseases. She relocated from Central Florida to Southern Arizona in 2024 where she provides services via telehealth. Deanna is actively pursuing the Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH) certification through the National Board for Certified Counselors.
When not with her clients Deanna enjoys spending time with her husband, cat and friends and is an avid reader. She loves taking in her surrounding gorgeous mountain views while hiking as well as attending concerts, Broadway musicals, watching movies and TV, and bike riding.
